Charles Marais the 2nd was born to Charles Marais (Father) and Catherine Tabourdeaux  (Mother) in 1668 in Le Plessis Merle, Hurepoix, France.

Died: May 16, 1711 - Stellenbosch, district Western Cape, South Africa.

The Marais family having left on board the "Voorschoten" from Delft Harbour, Rotterdam in the Netherlands in 1667, arrived in Saldanha Bay on the 13^th of April 1688.  It then sailed on to the Cape and arrived the 8^th of May 1688.
